Tour the UK

Our trail running holidays provide the perfect preparation for ultrarunning events, from the Lakeland 100 and Marathon des Sables to the West Highland Race.

Set a PB like no other on varied terrain, away from the support teams and tarmac of a marathon. Raise money for charity, or simply see what you can do.

Explore Scotland, England and Wales at your own pace, on your own two feet. Discover sights unseen from car windows, and visit beautiful places.

The Story of an Attempt on the

In May 2016, Contours Contributing Editor, Outdoor Journalist and GB Ultrarunner Damian Hall ran the 630 mile South West Coast Path in an attempt to break the record for the Fastest Known Time (FKT). Here is how he got on.

Our favourite trail running holidays

  • Pembrokeshire Coast Path

Alternating between near-wilderness and vibrant seaside villages, this is a trail of length and contrasts. And with over 36,000ft (11,000m) of ascent it is also a challenging one. Available as a 4, 5, 7, or 12-day trail running holiday.

  • West Highland Way

This 95-mile (152 km) trail consists of forest single tracks, smooth paths and challenging climbs, forming this total trail experience along an established ultra-race trail. Available as a 2, 3, 4 or 5-day trail running holiday.

  • Coast to Coast

The wilderness of the Pennines and North York Moors, combined with the rocky, technical Lake District fells and the added challenge of navigation, makes this 190-mile (304 km) trail truly epic. Available as a 5, 7 or 11-day trail running holiday.

  • Cleveland Way

A mixture of woodland, dales, moorland and classic running along cliff tops and around sandy bays makes this 110-mile (176 km) path a journey of two distinct halves. Available as a 3, 4 or 6-day trail running holiday.
